Getting messy...

Finally, a finished layout!

Evie actually helped me with this one; choosing the letters and adding her own handprint (which she was more than willing to do!)

Supplies:
  • various Thickers letters
  • mm alpha stickers
  • buttons
  • pink paislee papers
  • back of an advertising card from Studio Calico kit
  • imaginisce rubons
  • paint
Journalling reads:
When we were in America, we went pottery painting with Sara. Your favourite part was covering your hands and arms with the paint! Your finished plate was a masterpiece of course. The table and your body looked good too!

Evie's special scrapbook project

Evie came home from school in a very excited mood yesterday, clutching a strange bear and carrying a new backpack.

"Who's that Evie?"

"Poppy Bear!"

Inside her bag was a book with some instructions inside and it seems we have the responsibility for looking after Poppy for the next week. She has already been to about ten other children's houses and they have completed entries into her scrapbook/diary along with pictures to show what she's been doing.

Evie has taken her role very seriously and has been washing her face, brushing her teeth, feeding her and changing her 'stinky' bum too! I, of course, have been following all of this with my camera and can't wait to get started with recording her visit in her book. I think we'll make our own mini-book too to keep - Evie's first scrapbook! I've certainly got plenty of flowery, Poppy-like paper to use up!!

Had a midwife appointment yesterday and found out that the baby is in a 'back to back' position. This explains a few of the pains I've been experiencing and 'Operation Turn the Baby' has begun; I've been and bought an exercise ball and intend to spend my evenings 'bouncing' away and on all fours in an attempt to move the little man around. Wonder if I can scrap like that?!!!

Back home

Well, we're back to Earth with a bump after a fantastically relaxing and hot week in France. Every time we go, we become more attached to the place and try to think of ways of moving over there permanently but I fear that they are just pipe dreams for now...got to have dreams though.

Evie loved having a little playmate so I feel a little more happy about how she'll react to having a little brother. In fact she was really protective of our friends little boy which is a good sign. As long as she understands that the baby won't be able to play with her for a little while!

One thing that struck me while we were away was how much Evie has grown and changed since we first took her to Brittany in 2006. Somehow, her swimming costume has managed to fit her each year, although I suspect that we won't be squeezing her into it next year! So I though it'd be nice to see her 'growing' in our holiday snaps and while I wait for a chance to print them out and create a layout, here she is...

So now the wait for our impending arrival begins...5-6 weeks to go...need to spend some quality time scrapping!

four years ago today...

If anyone would have told me how much would have changed in these last four years, I wouldn't have believed them. Especially about having one child, nevermind another one being on the way!

One thing that I do know for sure is that I love this man more and more each day and I can't imagine life without him.

Happy Anniversary xxx

stuff

Had a relaxing weekend back at my parent's. Was nice to be looked after and get some fresh sea air:) Feels a bit weird though, to know that the next time we go there'll be four of us plus the dog. Just when we've got to the point that we don't need to pack very many things, we'll be having to take most of the house with us again! The joys of having a small baby!!

Took advantage of my Dad's photo printer and printed out some recent photos ready to scrap with. Now, a few weeks ago, we set about moving Evie into a different bedroom in the house, ready to share with the baby. She loved it straight away but was even more impressed when she finally got her 'big girl bed' complete with owl accessories! So, being inspired by the colours in her new room, I dug into some of my older stash and came up with this:

I hate to admit this but I bought the Hambly owl rubons about a year ago and it's the first time they've been used - they are perfect for this layout though!

Supplies:
Hambly pp and rubons
French Twist pp
Pink Paislee die cut heart
AC thickers/remarks/rubon letters
Tiny alpha stickers
Love Elsie sticker
MME crochet flower
Brads
Daisy D rub on stitches
Hand stitching/doodling

Journaling reads: It may have taken us five months to finally get it sorted but you've now got your very own big girl bed. You were so excited when you came home from nursery. Daddy had spent the afternoon building it and the look on your face made it worthwhile. The best bit is the owls on your duvet watching you sleep safely.

This was one of those layouts that just came together really easily for me - sometimes I can stare at my stuff for days and even weeks but I finished this in a couple of hours, even including breaks to rest my poorly fingers from all the sewing!

Only a few days until we go away to France for a week - our last holiday for a long time and I'm getting very excited - just hope the sun shines for us.
