I finally did a layout. The first in 7 weeks!!! Not my best but I'm pleased with it all the same.

Contended Little Baby: It makes me feel so proud when people comment on what a happy child you are. It reminds me that we must be doing something right!
Supplies:
Heidi Swapp Mask
Scenic Route Papers (Jenni Bowlin September kit)
French Twist buttons
MME journaling card
AC letters
This was my first 'play' with a mask and really loved the effect I created. I added some paper flowers and buttons to these swirls to look like buds.
Layered some papers to act as a mount for the photo. The other sets of buttons were placed to draw the eye across the layout.
Hope to get more done now!
I've been a bad blogger in the last few weeks. I had every intention of keeping up, but life, or more precisely work, have got in the way!
So, not scrapping for me. No stash shopping for me. And, no browsing to find loveliness for me either.
My plan for this evening is to get my stuff out and try to throw a layout together. I'm itching to do one but haven't the energy or time usually but I deserve a night off!
I promise to post a piccie of anything that I manage to create!
And Nicola, I'll take my camera upstairs in a bit to get some piccies of my fab new jewellery...
I haven't been around for a few days; we've been away in London to celebrate my birthday (I'm 31 today!)
Had a fantastic time in a brand new hotel opposite the Dome. We splashed out on a suite and just loved it.
So another weekend goes by without scrapping but I am extremely relaxed. Had a great time pottering around Covent Garden yesterday and picked out some gorgeous handmade jewellery as a pressie from Graeme.
I've also started my camera fund and am hoping to have an SLR very soon. Oh and I got some new Banana Frog stamps from my SIL. Very thoughtful of her!
Trying not to think about being back to work tomorrow...
Two years ago today, Graeme and I went out for our 'last supper'. We'd known since the previous week that our lives were going to change forever on the 14th of September, although the Consultant did try to do an emergency section on the 9th and we hadn't even finished our antenatal classes then!
So we went to Pizza Express for a final meal together on our own. I remember being really anxious about the whole thing and actually telling Graeme that I didn't want a baby anymore (bit too late at that point!).
So, two years ago tomorrow, we got up early and headed down the road to Macclesfield Hospital knowing that in a couple of hours we would finally see our baby.
My life has been made so much richer since Evie arrived. She constantly makes me laugh and melts my heart with her spontaneous hugs and kisses. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she opens her presents!
Looking forward to her being old enough to start her own scrapbooks but appreciating every precious moment until then too.
Just Us, August 2005 - pre Evie
Too much to do and not enough time to do it all!
Had a very busy week. I knew it would be but it was made about a hundred times worse when I caught a cold off Evie and couldn't sleep properly (= even harder time at school).
My new class are lovely which does make things slightly easier but I really hated having to get up on Friday and go to work. I also miss Evie a lot.
A typical day:
6:30am get up and sort Evie out for nursery
7:30am leave the house
8:20 - 8:30am arrive at school (traffic-jams depending!)
8:50am school day starts
from 4pm-ish onwards leave school
5pm arrive at nursery
5:10 get home
sit down and have a drink then cook dinner
6:30pm Evie goes to bed
7:00pm start my 'homework'
9:00pm watch some TV/relax
10:00pm bed
So, not much time for scrapping at the moment :( Got some lovely new papers too. I know that things will settle down once I'm back into the swing of things but right now it's pants!
Got lots to look forward to though; it's Evie's 2nd birthday on Friday (how did that happen?!) and my birthday the following Sunday...there's talk of a trip to Paris so keeping my finger's crossed.
Not much creativity going on around here this weekend unless you count cutting out stars for a display at school!
We're missing the beach so took a trip to Formby today. Even the wind and rain didn't deter us from paddling.
Finally bought a copy of this month's Scrapbook Inspirations and had a look at my layout for the Sketch Challenge. I love the layout I did and glad to be able to share it. So Evie and Graeme have both now featured in the mag; just need to get myself in there now!
